Description Of Work:

Schoeman Enterpises did a complete ripout, remodel and rebuild of our master bathroom. They also did a complete rebuild of our fireplace in the great room.

Comments:

We met with Hennie Schoeman who not only listened to our ideas, but who also had some great ideas of his own which we adopted. Hennie’s two sons let the work crew. They are two wonderful young men who are extremely polite and respectful. They cleaned up after each days work so we could continue living in the house. They were always timely. The work was done in a professional manner. We had two issues with Delta faucets that were discovered to be defective. Hennie had a representative from Delta come to inspect and had the faucets replaced. They company is one hundred percent reliable and they stand behind their work. The bathroom and fireplace they rebuild are outstanding. Upon completion of our work, our daughter hired them to do a complete renovation of her master bathroom. I would use them again and have done so and would highly recommend them to others.

Shower Enclosure Remodel

Comments:

OVERALL:  under promised, OVER DELIVERED every step of the way. Work to be performed was complete retile of stand up shower enclosure (no tub) remove framed enclosure, and install glass frameless enclosure.   Initially contacted company on phone in October, Hennie advised he would most likely not be able to start a new job until December/January time frame.  We scheduled an estimate, Hennie called ahead and asked if it would be ok if he arrived 30 minutes early.  Hennie came out, and a couple days later he emailed me a detailed quote.   Work was scheduled to begin on Jan 14.  I received a call the week before to ask if they could start on the 10th.  Of Course!  Chris did all the tile work.  He was very respectful of our home, and keeping the work area clean and neat as possible.   Despite how small our job was, he seemed genuinely interested in every detail, and even offered suggestions & asked for our input throughout the process.  Hennie’s son Abel did the fixtures.  In addition to the work that was requested, we also had a water pressure issue in our house. Abel took apart all of the faucets in our house, in our helped us identify what the problem was.   This was outside the scope of the work we requested, and Abel seemed genuinely concerned in identifying the issue, and solving our problem.  Tile work was finished on the 21st.  Hennie advised it would take up to 2 weeks for enclosure to arrive. Enclosure was installed, and work was completed on January 29th.   So only 1 week later.

I thought the $6909 seemed like a high price to pay for this job, but a significant part of that was made up of the custom glass frameless enclosure.   Hennie suggested a tiered % payment plan, where we paid as the work was performed, and we didn’t have to send  final payment until after the work was completed.

I did get cheaper quotes for this job, but I am confident that If I would I have selected one of those businesses, the work would not have been completed as smoothly as with Schoeman.    I will do business with Schoeman again, and have already referred them to friends.

Description Of Work:

Kitchen remodel which included removing a wall with electrical and portion of another wall.  Also, new cabinets, new island, marble counters, lighting, electrical, floor tiling, backsplash tiling, re-plumbing, and everything associated.

Comments:

Hennie & company showed up as promised at the exact promised date and time.  Demolition of the old kitchen (walls, cabinets, old tiles, carpeting, etc.) was completed very quickly.  Care was taken to place plastic dropcloths to lessen the dust from the demolition.  Clean-up was very good as it was at the end of each day during the reconstruction.

Hennie recommended the tile and granite companies, which were very easy to work with as well as being very helpful with our selections. Before the start of the entire process, we selected the style and color of the cabinets with the suggested layouts regarding the most functional placing of drawers and cabinets as well as a perfect island layout. The final results are beautiful and rich in color.

Hennie Jr. did a fantastic job managing the day-to-day details and kept constant contact with us throughout the project.  He also installed all of the tiles and the backsplash tiles. The results are amazing, and we are extremely happy with the new look!

The additional attention to detail was great, such as suggesting we use leftover marble for new window sills, which looks so great, and they trimmed the vertical blinds to fit with the new sills.

All the appliances were installed without any issues.

Hennie also helped us order additional floor tile, with delivery, so they can install it later this year to match our new kitchen floor tile.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience from beginning to end as they were extremely professional, trustworthy and skilled.

Description Of Work:

Completely remodel 2nd floor condo consisting of 2 bathrooms, two bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and lobby. Included demo, thru final product.

Comments:

I was referred to Mr Hennie by the manager of the building and had a good impression on the first meeting and after the estimate was submitted and we met again, I decided to use his company’s services.

The team of Schoeman Enterprises was very polite and did their work with utmost professionalism. The job was done within the desired time frame and went without any interruptions even though I lived out of state and would travel to Tampa every couple of weeks to meet with Hennie Schoeman.

I was kept updated every few days with pictures of the progress. Daily progress reports via telephone took a lot of pressure off me.

My renovation project was totally stress free and the confidence I placed in Schoeman Enterprises abilities  was well rewarded.

Should I ever need the services of a contractor I will certainly be contacting Mr Schoeman again.

Description Of Work:

Gutted and remodeled our master bathroom from top to bottom.  Moved plumbing, electrical, replaced tub, vanity, sinks, fixtures, flooring & built out extended wall, new shelving and new closet.

Comments:

We loved these guys!  They were extremely professional, courteous, responsive and meticulous.  We felt at ease leaving them in our home to work while we were out.  They were also mindful of the fact that we have a 2 and 4 year old running around and would work around nap and waking times to ensure that we were not inconvenienced any more than necessary.  We would definitely use them again!!

Jennifer Stiles, Lutz, FL

Approximate Cost: $60,000

Description Of Work:

We had our kitchen and family room totally gutted down to the studs.  We had a wall knocked down to open up our kitchen to the family room.  We also had our powder room converted to a full bath.  We had BEAUTIFUL custom cabinets, tile flooring, granite counter tops, new dry wall hung and painted in the kitchen and family room.  We also had a bar installed in the family room.  Our powder room walls were bumped out to make room for a shower stall with new cabinets, sink, toilet, etc. installed in the bathroom.

Comments:

The workers at Schoeman Enterprises are very professional and honest people.  I never once felt uncomfortable leaving them in the house alone.  The quality of the work is unbelievable (beyond my expectations).  The job did take much longer than expected which can be frustrating (especially since construction was over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), but we did run up against some surprises (major termite damage that needed to be corrected, electrical issues) that contributed to the delays.

This was the 3rd time that I used Schoeman Enterprises and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Description Of Work:

Remodeled a master bathroom and guest bathroom in part.

Comments:

Working with Hennie and the team is wonderful.  This is the second remodeling project we have had them do and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.  This time, they completely remodeled a master bath – shower fixtures, wall and floor tile, cabinetry, plumbing/sink & commode, countertops and painting – and also completed smaller changes to a guest bath.  Almir completed most of the labor himself and did an exacting and perfect job!  The tile work covers both the floor and two walls and the installation was beautifully done – everything lined up properly, grout even, and lines straight.  The attention to detail is part of what makes the finished job so terrific.  Having worked with them before, I had a lot of trust in their suggestions and know that they only promise what they can deliver well.  I also appreciated their great problem-solving on unexpected things you find when you open up walls.  Rob of Precision Granite did the granite and did a beautiful and pains-taking job in the master bath.  All the comments about the finished work have been exceptionally positive and I am very satisfied with the work.  As has been said in other reviews, the price is always what you expect as Hennie takes pride in ensuring that he is precise in his estimates.  Great folks and a great job!

Alan Singletary, Seffner, FL

Approximate Cost: $4,800.00

Description Of Work:

They demolished our tile shower down to the concrete blocks, built up the pan, new drywall, and laid all of the tile. They also fixed some old plumbing and replaced the toilet.

Comments:

Hennie came out and gave us a quote, very detailed and we were able to remove anything we decided was not needed (and he recommended a good tile store to pick out tiles from). We decided to pick up most of the supplies that they needed to re-do our shower from the ground up. They were not the cheapest but no doubt were well worth the money.

They were on time everyday, were able to work around our schedule, and were very trustworthy. We felt no worries about leaving them at the house alone. They cleaned up everyday and were pleasant people to have in our home. The work they did was fabulous. The shower looks wonderful and we are already planning another bathroom to be re-done and the kitchen eventually also.

They finished the job a day early and remained on budget with their estimate.

We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to do bathroom renovations!!

Jeanne Beck,  Tampa, FL

Approximate Cost: $32,000

Description Of Work:

In short, they tore down and redid the kitchen and master bathroom cabinets, counters, plumbing, shower door, and wall tiles (backslashes in kitchen and bathroom, shower floor, shower wall, tub wall).  The cabinets were custom built – I picked the door style, the color (out of over a hundred color choices), the sizes, and how to fill the funky-shaped spaces in our kitchen (ex. I had them build shelves to fill an odd triangular corner space – one of our kitchen walls is built diagonal to the other walls.  It came out great!).  I selected the granite I wanted and they picked it up, cut it, and put it in.   I selected all the tiles and designed the tile layout, and they ordered it and put it in according to my specifications.

Comments:

Everything happened on schedule.  Hennie coordinated everything – all I had to do was pick out what I wanted.  The guys who did the tear-down were tidy and when they found construction issues that needed attention, they let me and the other guys know.  Abel (Hennie’s son) and Almir did most of the work leading up to the cabinet and tile installation and took really good care of those construction issues.  The cabinets went in nicely and look great.  I had asked the cabinet guys to build a matching free-standing little shelf stand, and that came out beautifully.  Rob, the man who works with the granite, is very skilled and the granite looks great!  When he has to put in a seam, you have to really look for it to find it.  The tile, along with the new drywall behind it, was installed by Almir, Abel, and Hennie’s other son Hennie Jr.  They were excited to work with my tile design and encouraged whatever creative ideas I had.  When they needed to tell me that an idea may not or would not work well, they were very tactful in telling me that.  The tile work came out exactly as I imagined.  Hennie handled scheduling the shower door guy to come out and measure the space and then put in the custom shower door.

This is a family business, and they treated my home like they would treat their own home.  Any mistakes that were made were minor and were fixed promptly.  Hennie told me to call anytime if I ever find anything that doesn’t look right, and they will take care of it. Regarding pricing, I payed them more than I would have payed another company that did an estimate, but this other company did not have nearly the same number of choices.  Overall, I think they charge a fair price for what they do and what they offer.  There were no surprises on the bill.  They were very friendly and sociable.  Hennie Jr taught me how to solve a rubix cube, and now I’m teaching my 6y/o daughter, who was  little upset that when the job was over they weren’t going to be coming back.

We also replaced the vanity light and had a new exhaust fan installed. The second bath had a toilet and floor that remained as is. The vanity light was also replaced and a new exhaust fan installed. We also added bars to hold onto getting in and out of the tub and shower.

Comments:

Work began Jan. 10, 2011 and one bathroom was worked on at a time. This helped with the convenience factor! Everyone involved worked very hard to keep in communication with us and whenever someone might be late, we got a call. We had one workman in the house the whole time and he was very careful to keep his work space tidy at the end of the day. We were very happy with the level of craftsmanship shown. Remodeling can be a stressful experience, but I must say Hennie and crew did a great job working with us and giving us new bathrooms we are very happy to call ours!

J. Burns Brandon, FL 33510

Description Of Work:

In Fall 2008, we hired Schoeman Enterprises to replace the shower in our master bathroom because our old shower floor was always moldy.  Nothing we had tried corrected the problem for any length of time.  Hennie Schoeman did the estimates, and his son, Abel did the installation along with a subcontractor who put in the free-standing glass.

Comments:

These gentlemen are the utmost professionals.  The demolition of the old shower went extremely smoothly (Abel was very careful to make sure nothing was tracked through the house) and went down to the studs and through the shower floor to the earth below.   The excavation of the concrete was required because, as they predicted, the builder never put in a drain pan when he constructed the original shower.  Breaking out the old concrete revealed that the water was seeping through the grout and concrete into the dirt below and forming mold.  The mold traveled the same path in reverse up to the shower floor.

The installation was exacting, and the final result was dazzling, but that’s not where this good-news story ends.  About 2 years later (Fall 2010), our shower drain developed an odor of sewage each time the water was running (and only while the water ran).  After spending hundreds on the theories of various plumbers without success, one suggested that the weep holes in the shower drain were likely clogged.  These holes are how water on the floor of the shower passes into the drain once it seeps through the grout and concrete into the drain pain and over to the drain.

When I heard this, I called Hennie.  He responded quickly and tried to unclog the holes via a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar that he forced into the weep holes by stopping up the drain below them.  He charged nothing for the visit, and we hoped for the best.  Unfortunately, it didn’t work in the long run.

So, Abel came over to examine the weep holes.  To determine if the weep holes are clogged required excavating the drain by removing the tile in a 1′ x 1.5′ area around the drain and gently (to avoid piercing the drain pan) removing the concrete surrounding the drain until the holes are visible.  Overall, it took more than 2 hours.  Abel did a fantastic job of excavating the material around the weep holes and discovered they were not at all clogged.  Again, no charge was assessed.  Plus, Hennie told me that once we found and fixed the problem, they would come back and rebuild the excavated area for no charge.

We did finally find a plumber who solved the problem–although he and we are unsure how he did–and Abel came back and restored the shower beautifully to the way it looked before the excavation.  Although Hennie insisted no money was required for the repairs, I told him I wanted to pay him since the weep-hole theory was invalid and therefore their installation was not at fault.

As you can imagine, I would eagerly recommend this company to anyone both for their highly professional workmanship and incredible ethic of customer service!

Description Of Work:

Complete renovation of a master bath in your typical contemporary florida style home and painting of master bedroom, including installation of crown molding.  Demo of existing bathroom and preparation / customization of areas to be re-tiled / surfaced.  All new tile (porcelein & glass), custom cabinets & mirrors, freestanding bathtub, and frameless glass enclosure.  All new kohler high-end sink, toilet, and faucets.   New exhaust fan installed and chandelier.  Walls / ceiling were prepped, repaired, and repainted.

Comments:

We were extremely happy with Hennie and Abel.  They are complete professionals and became part of our family while they were on site.  In fact, while we were glad the work was done, it was sad not interacting with them on a daily / weekly basis.  We look forward to our continued friendship and future renovations.

We shopped around for months and interviewed several contractors from Angie’s List and knew from the 1st visit that Schoeman Ent were a fit for us.  Most contractors came out and tried to push their vision on us… they just didn’t get it.  Hennie LISTENs and WRITEs things down, so there are no communication issues.   Also, they are not condescending and do not always try and do things that will be easy for them.  However, they do provide design assistance and common sense advice, which helps tremendously when trying to navigate the complexities of an end-to-end project.

Any subs they used… painting, plumbing, cabinetry, electric have been completely vetted by them.  You can be assured that anyone walking into your home will do the job well, be courteous, professional, and cleans-up after a day’s work.

Their attention to detail is what you would expect from professional craftsmen.  Anyone can do demo work, but it takes a true artist to do all the little things to make your master bathroom a masterpiece.

Jess McKee Lutz, FL 33549

Approximate Cost: $80,000

Description Of Work:

Schoeman Enterprises renovated our kitchen, 2 secondary bathrooms and the master bathroom.  The kitchen and master bathroom had design flaws from their original construction in 1991.  Schoeman Enterprises suggested corrections, then provided the finished product.  This included reconfiguring the master bathroom water closet which was incredibly small, and making the counter workspace in the kitchen is more usable and convenient. During the renovation, we also removed all the original carpet and tile.  Schoeman suggested a flooring contractor and a painter, when we were ready for the whole house to be painted.   These subcontractors had the same high standards and work ethic as Schoeman Enterprises, Inc.

Comments:

When we moved to the Tampa area nearly two years ago, we intended to buy a move-in-ready home.  We had recently done a major renovation on our old home, and did not want the hassle of another renovation.  But — the home we found was in its 1991 original condition.  When it came time to look for a contractor to renovate the kitchen, 3 baths, and flooring, one of the interviews was with a contractor recommended by a vendor.  Professional, experienced and innovative, we chose Schoeman Enterprises, Inc., over the others.  The renovations went smoothly, because this family knows what they are doing, and make sure they understand what their client wants.

Professional and Experienced — The projects (divided into two phases) came in on time and on budget.

Innovative — The kitchen and master bath were reconfigured to remove design flaws from their original condition.

You just cannot go wrong with Schoeman Enterprises, Inc.  If you wonder about this statement, take a look at the photos on their website.

Dr. Jeanne Peterson New Tampa

Description:

Complete remodel of the kitchen which included removal of the old pantry and a window and installation of new cabinets, countertops, lighting, glass, and tile backsplash as well as re-attaching plumbing and re-placing appliances. Work on site was accomplished over a 3-4 week period. Comments:

Schoeman Enterprises did a beautiful job from start to finish! Of the various estimates, they were the most responsive, rapid, and flexible and also came in with a competitive price. Hennie is an absolute pleasure to work with – courteous, knowledgeable, communicative, and a highly effective planner and manager of a complex process. They have long-standing relationships with each of the various workers – electrician, cabinet maker, painter, etc., and good communication about the sequencing of the work. The timetable and price were followed exactly, the quality of the work was excellent, and the process was made as painless as possible. For example, we had the demolition done the week we went on vacation and were able to come back to a very tidy, empty shell. Every day there was clean-up after their work so that the rest of the house remained liveable. Hennie and/or Abel (who directly managed our project) called us or was on-site every day to keep track of what was happening and to be available to answer questions. Every worker was pleasant and courteous. We had a few special items that we wanted – a special cabinet behind the sink, some display boxes and changes to the pantry. Of the various people I spoke to, Hennie was most able to understand the request accurately and devise a satisfying solution. He was always accomodating. Even in cases where the solution required ingenuity or there was a need to re-work a minor element of the plan, they were able to achieve the desired result. I was very impressed with how every item (both those specified at the onset and those which were added as the process went along) was checked off the list satisfactorily.

An added bonus for us is that we have had some additional work done by some of his people (the painter and glass door folks) and have Schoeman Enterprises to thank for the good referral. People comment positively on the finished job all the time. We’ve already referred a friend of ours to them and my friend reports Hennie is doing a beautiful job with her kitchen and baths, too!

My overall recommendation is that these folks are fantastic – if you have the chance, hire them!

Description Of Work:

Bathroom remodel, including new tile floor, extra tile work, hand made vanity and cabinet, toilet, all fixtures, paint , etc.

Comments:

I have a “very” small bathroom that was 30 years old!  I was looking for a company I could trust and Schoeman Enterprises was that company.  Their ad said they don’t do “cheap” work so I emailed Hennie Schoeman and said I wanted quality work as “inexpensively as possible”!  Hennie and “company” were amazing.  I trusted them in my home while I was at work (rare for me), I was informed of each step of the work and Hennie was always available by email or phone.    The hand made vanity and cabinet are exactly what I wanted.  The lighting and bath fixtures are beautiful and match perfect.  Hennie worked with me and my budget every step of the way. He was very professional, made suggestions I would not have thought of and answered all my “silly woman questions”!  My next project will be my kitchen and Schoeman Enterprises is the company I will call.

Larry & Peggy Totz South Tampa

Description Of Work:

Our only bathroom was completely gutted(except the toilet) and remodeled. Comments:

We were referred to Schoeman Construction. Hennie came out right away listened carefully to what we wanted and came back within one week with an estimate, Hennie was the fourth contractor we spoke with. He had a few suggestions for us, we had not thought of,. we negotiated the final price, he gave us a budget and suggested companies whose quality he was comfortable with to choose our Travertine and granite from. we purchased our own cabinetry. Hennie provided everything else.

My wife and I both work, so we gave a Key to our home to Hennie and felt very comfortable doing so. He had three main workers whom he introduced to us. and work began on the day he said it would January 4th 2010, each day when we returned home from work the house was as we left it, and the bathroom was in different stages of development, when something required more than previously thought Hennie called immediately and gave us an estimate ie: the bathroom pipes needed replacing, the cost was minimal and the work needed. old items were left for our inspection, Hennie called nightly to check how we felt it was going and if we felt anything was missed or needed.

He finished when he said he would and the transformation is remarkable, our friends and family are impressed and so are we. he took a 55 yr old bathroom and transformed it into exactly what we envisioned. We are very happy we found Schoeman Construction on Angie’s list. While they weren’t the cheapest, they were certainly the best!

Comments:

There aren’t enough words to describe how we feel about Schoeman Enterprises. The fact that we never hesitate referring Hennie to our family members and best friends lets you know how much confidence we have in him and I believe that is our best testimonial.

Our last kitchen project was quite a challenge on many fronts. Hennie met and exceeded each of those challenges. We now have our “dream kitchen”. Over the years, they have completed three kitchen  and five bathroom remodels for us.

Hennie and his family are a one-of-a-kind contractor. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Hennie and his family on every project.  It is special to have the workers show up when they say they will be there and do exactly what they say they are going to do. They are very organized from beginning to end including work area cleanup.

My husband and I would be happy to speak to anyone considering hiring Schoeman  Enterprises for any home improvement projects.

Comments:

We recently had our bathroom completely remodeled by Schoeman Enterprises. We couldn’t be more pleased!

First, their estimate was detailed and understandable, and in the ballpark of others we had received. They gave us several good ideas which were incorporated into the estimate.

We had a million questions before and throughout the job, and Hennie or Abel Schoeman answered them all patiently. The design ideas changed as the work progressed, and they accommodated them all without big additions to the estimate.  The work was of the best quality, and they did not skimp on the materials that they provided. They started on the promised date, and finished on the promised date. They did not leave our house a mess, either during or after construction.

Of course the main thing is that the bathroom is beautiful ! We recommend Schoeman Enterprises to you without reservation.

I started to write a long detailed account but decided to delete it and simply cut to the chase. Hennie Schoeman is a man without peer in the construction industry. If you are in the market for someone to work in your home, you can end your search here and now. Hire Schoeman Enterprises. Any job that is of the scope of the work that Schoeman Enterprises performed in my home will undoubtedly have some issues and this job was no different. It is in the handling of the issues that the true character of a contractor is revealed. This job revealed that Hennie Schoeman is a man of unquestionable character, a man of his word, and a man who truly cares about those he does business with. The end result of the work that Schoeman Enterprises did in our home is in a word “breathtaking”. The transformation is unbelievable and our house is now the envy of the neighborhood and we owe it all to Hennie Schoeman.  Overall A, Price A, Quality A, Responsiveness A, Punctuality A, Professionalism A! Work Done: Yes* More Weight is given to a report where work has been completed.

Thank you Schoeman Construction!

Description Of Work:

This was a complete gutting and remodel of my original kitchen (approx a 10 ft. x 12 ft space). Everything from flooring to cabinets to lighting was removed and replaced. Included some upgrade in the electrical wiring. They also discovered a problem with my kitchen drain plumbing that they took care of and it has made a real difference in our enjoyment of our new kitchen.

Comments:

This was a great experience for us. I merely read reviews for Schoeman Enterprises, made a decision based on those reviews and their finished project pictures, then I called Hennie for an appointment. Everything went very well. Hennie and his sons did a great job. Always showing up for the job on time, very careful in their concern and attention to detail and cleaning up after themselves when the day’s job was done. They were a pleasure to get to know and we wouldn’t hesitate in using Schoeman Enterprises again. His subcontractors for the plumbing and electric were just as confident and reliable. Schoeman Enterprises is an extremely honest and reputable family business with a sense for good craftsmanship!

Joshua Knauerr

Description Of Work:

These are the following items that we had Schoeman Enterprises,Inc. do. We had the wall between the living room and dining room knocked down, and columns put up-which looked great and really opened up the room. They scraped off all of the popcorn off the ceiling throughout the house and then retextured everything. They took off brown paneling from the wall in the family room and retextured that. They took up the ugly green carpet and replaced it with laminate. They took out the ugly kitchen dome light and replaced it with canned lighting. They gutted the Master Bathroom. It used to be a handicap bathroom with railings and a shower that was meant for a wheelchair. They gutted the bathroom and in return giving us a beautiful dream bathroom with marble flooring, a huge walk in shower with a frameless shower door, custom made cabinets and a gorgeous granite countertop. They repainted the entire inside of the house, which looks wonderful. All of this was done in four weeks!

Comments:

Thank God for Angies list and Thank God for Schoeman Enterprises! My husband and I were really excited to purchase our first home but scared to have it remodeled although it needed it! We heard so many horror stories about remolding jobs gone horribly bad; however meeting Hennie took our fears away! My father is a Workers Comp Investigator for Florida so he did a background check on all of the contractors that we talked to and Schoeman Enterprises came back spotless. We met with 4 contractors; three from a reputable source and one was from a friend of a friend and Schoeman Enterprises blew them all away! He showed up on time, was well groomed and went through our house thoroughly and listened to our wants and concerns. He gave us a proper estimate, broke everything down showing us exactly where our money would go. It was not a piece of paper with the price of the remodeling like some of the contractors did. Hennie Schoeman’s crew was wonderful! They were really careful and neat. They did a marvelous job really detailed and cleaned up after themselves every evening. We were so happy with their work that we bought them lunch one afternoon.

Description Of Work:

They remodeled two of my bathrooms. They completely took everything out and then put in new everything. They did this work for me a couple years ago and that was the first time that I had used them.

Comments:

They were very, very good. The final price stayed in line with the estimate they provided to me. They showed up on time to do the work for me and finished in the time frame they specified. They were very thorough in their cleanup when finished. I would use them again and would also recommend them.

They remodeled our master bathroom. They put in a new tub, shower, vanity, toilet, marble tops, marble on the walls, new electrical fixtures as well as flooring. They basically did everything from top to bottom. They did this work in the summer of 2006 and that was the first time we had used Schoeman.

Comments:

They were a great contractor and did a wonderful job. They were a joy to work with, which is hard to find with contractors these days. They were able to complete the work in the time frame they specified and stayed in line with the original estimate. They stayed in touch to make sure we were happy with everything. We would use them again for future work.

Description Of Work:

My old shower had greenboard that had deteriorated and the tiles were falling off. Hennie Schoeman came out; was on time for the appointment and gave me an estimate for repair or for redoing (recommended) the shower. I chose to have the shower replaced and he assigned his technician, Almir. My shower was retiled, new cement board backing, new drain, new shower pipe and shower head. and they even made the shower a little bigger. He charged what he estimated and they did a wonderful job; I now have a beautiful and solid shower that will last many years.

Comments:

What professionals!!! Hennie called me every day to advise what they were going to do that day; they finished (as promised) in 4 days. Hennie was a joy to work with; you don’t find many businesses that give you that kind of service. He came out and observed the situation and made suggestions; he even sent me a picture (e-mail) of a similar shower and the finished product. He suggested colors and tile size and let me choose. He monitored the progress as his technician Almir did the work. Almir was a great guy to work with; he did a thorough, professional job on my shower. He cleaned up every day and put his tools aside so I was able to sleep in my bedroom (it was the master bath). If he had to leave to get supplies he always advised me. He did a great job overall and left my shower clean and ready to use. Always polite and professional. How refreshing to work with these professionals. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

I’m surprised that Schoeman Enterprises hasn’t put all other contractors out of business. Hennie and his crew are a delight to work with. Everyone we worked with was honest, prompt and very skilled. We would have paid extra for this kind of reliability and would gladly hire Schoeman Enterprises for any other home project. I certainly recommend him for anyone that is looking for a good contractor. My only regret is that I did not find him sooner.

Like many people we have heard and seen on TV the horror stories about having major home remodeling done, we have found out how to be sure this does not happen to us — WE HIRE SCHOEMAN ENTERPRISES. Hennie Schoeman, the owner, has done two jobs for us, a bathroom several years ago(1998) and he has just completed re-doing our kitchen.(2007) To say we have been pleased would be an under statement. Hennie has, in both instances, given us a price that was within our budget and except for some extras that we added has completed the job as agreed and on time. This all having been done with a minimum of disruption and with excellent workers and workmanship. We are very pleased to re-commend Hennie to you as a reliable, honest and trustworthy contractor.

One of Mr. Schoeman’s assistants was assigned to do every step of our bathroom. He was courteous and punctual. He was trustworthy enough to leave unattended. He cleaned his workspace every day so that we did not have to move out of our bedroom. The project was completed on time and the work done was of excellent quality. We had a leak on the first day and they responded immediately to an SOS call at midnight and came to repair the leak! I would definitely use them again. I only gave them a “B” because they came in on the high side of price, but it seems that the faith that the job will be done well is worth it.

Schoeman Enterprises were our saviors in the midst of a nightmare caused by a prior contractor who made a mess – and safety hazard – of remodeling my mother’s condo.  My mother moved into her new home after numerous delays only to discover the prior contractor had left a shocking number of “surprises” behind: new sky lights that leaked onto and ruined new ceiling and wood floor, new lighting that flickered due to exposed wiring shorting within walls, new shower that lacked hot water due to incorrect plumbing connections… and the list goes on.

Hennie patiently mustered subcontractors to diagnose and solve each issue, prioritizing safety and soothing our frazzled nerves over efficiency as necessary.  Over several weeks, Hennie, his son, and their hand-picked roofer, electrician, floor installer, and painter corrected every issue with an attention to detail and pride in their craft that is visible throughout the finished space.  Every person who arrived to work in our home was prompt, professional, and refreshingly decent… people you would welcome as neighbors and who Schoeman has clearly chosen as much based on character as skill.

Having experienced the worst of the criminal and unskilled element of Tampa’s contracting community, it has been a true pleasure to have the Schoeman team restore and enhance our home.

Past experience in making major renovations to our home has left us with unfavorable, unforgettable memories. When it was decided to totally remodel two bathrooms, we commenced, in trepidation, to identify a competent contractor willing to work with us.

We contracted with Schoeman Construction to totally remodel a master bathroom, and guest bathroom. We found them persevering and careful in their work, and as a result, the projects were satisfactorily completed in a timely fashion.

We offer comments of potential importance to anyone considering utilization of their services. The principals listened attentively to our wants and requirements at the beginning, and continued to do so throughout the entire process to arrive at the desired outcome. They instituted measures to minimize disruption of our normal living situation; to protect adjacent rooms and hallways from dirt, dust, and damage; and cleaned up the immediate work area at the end of each day. They openly enjoyed being involved with us in the creative process as evidenced by their input that enabled us to achieve a finished product that was refreshingly different, beautiful, and new.

Would we contract with them again? Tentatively, while Mr. Schoeman was at our home, we discussed a partial remodeling of the kitchen. He will be the first to be called when we have made the decision to proceed with the project.

Trying to find reputable contractors is usually a challenge. I got lucky when I looked in the phone book and found Schoeman Enterprises. My decision to contact them was reinforced when friends told me they too used Schoeman Enterprises and they had a very positive experience.

From the day I met Hennie Schoeman I knew I was dealing with a man of integrity. I didn’t even bother getting other estimates; this was the company I wanted to work with.

The entire experience was pleasant. They worked around my schedule, did what they committed to; cleaned up each day and most importantly, I 100% trusted them in my home. That was huge for me. I only missed one day of work while they completed the remodel of my master bathroom and that was the first day they began work. In fact, I felt so comfortable with the gentleman doing my work, I handed him a garage door opener the first day and he had full access to come and go as he pleased for the duration of the job. Hennie would contact me daily to ensure I was pleased with the progress and answer any questions.

The workmanship, superior; the bathroom a showplace. My only complaint to Hennie was that they did such a good job that now my water bill has gone up because I stay in the shower so much longer.

Now that I have had dealings with Schoeman Enterprises, I look forward to my next home improvement project.  I will use them every opportunity I have.

We have had several very successful renovations done to our home by Hennie Schoeman and his company. We go back a long time……they have done our kitchen, a playroom and also a shower remodel. Their work ethic has always impressed me tremendously. The work is always done promptly, as promised, and with utmost courtesy and constant feedback and communication between Hennie and ourselves.

What could be a very stressful situation always turns out to be an actually pleasant experience.

We would use Schoeman Enterprises again for any remodel and recommend him highly.

Hennie and Abel did two separate jobs for us. They removed a jacuzzi tub and built a large, fully tiled walk-in shower, with a large corner seat and a glass block wall. After remodeling the bathroom, we scheduled them to come back and remodel the kitchen. We had water damage to our wood flooring and cabinets, and since they have a General Contractor’s license, he was able to oversee the entire job. He worked with our insurance adjuster making sure there was a good understanding of the damage. Then he organized the work and scheduled it appropriately. When the work was completed he followed-up with us to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction.

They arrived on time every single day and finished the job when promised.

Hennie and his son Abel are two of the finest people we have ever met. They take great pride in their workmanship and it shows. Many friends and family have commented on the beautiful job they did for us and we absolutely love our new shower and kitchen! Their service and work is impeccable!
